Mereni Commune is situated in the eastern part of the Basin of the Three Chairs. It is 17 km from Tg. Secuiesc, 1 km from Lutoasa, 4 km from Lemnia and 6 km from Bretcu.

The commune expands towards the south to the highest peaks of the Nemira Mountain (Alexander the Great – 1639 m), situated in the northeastern boundary of Covasna county, in the valley of the Black River, up to the Lemnia Valley. The southern part of the commune is marked by the Basin of the Three Chairs, having 580 m height.
